The Ikon(tm) host adapter hardware registers are sometimes used as the basis of driver or application software development. How are these commonly used? Compatibility is quite important for those users whose experience or applications include Ikon style operations.
What is the hardware register format? The following is a brief summary of the hardware registers on an Ikon model 10111 host adapter card for the ISA bus. Presumably, other host adapter cards have a very similar interface. The upper case mnemonics are those which may have some applicability in the Gypsy interface. The lower case mnemonics probably are not useful in the Gypsy interface.
